Welcome to The Foresters Heritage Trust website

The Foresters Heritage Trust aims to stimulate interest in friendly societies and their caring and colourful culture, in particular the Ancient Order of Foresters. The Trust is a voluntary independent registered charity, governed by eight Trustees, and is based in Tunstall, Stoke on Trent.

A permanent, publicly accessible Museum & Archive was formally opened at Southampton in August 2007. The Museum was moved to Tunstall, Stoke on Trent, England in 2016. This website enables you to preview some of the items in the Museum and get an indication of what the Archive contains. It also provides information about our research enquiry service which has already helped many family and local community historians. To visit any of our three service areas, click on the chosen icon, or use the site contents listings.

If you are not familiar with the term 'Friendly Societies' we suggest that you visit our web page of the same title, where you can learn a little of the history and development of friendly societies in the UK.
